c. 1940's vintage medical freestanding hospital patient room bedside reading lamp. manufactured by will ross inc., milwaukee, wi. contains a weighted cast iron base with folded steel cover plate. extension rod retains the original chrome plated finish. the bell-shaped midsection contains on/off switches, receptacle and low-watt indirect incandescent light source. the bent tubular upper pole features a ball and socket joint adjustable lamp comprised of a spun aluminum tapered shade with turned wood handle. the machine age floor lamp was salvaged from michael reese hospital (chicago, il). the lamp has bee rewired. good working condition. uniform brushed metal finish.
