late 1920's antique american industrial made four-legged factory machinist stool attributed to the fowler-manson-sherman cycle mfg. co., chicago, il. the painted steel stool contains long and slightly tapered legs with flared feet pinched near the steel disc shoe. the blue painted solid maple wood circular seat is original to the stool. the slightly contoured riveted joint backrest is supported by two opposed wrought "flexsteel" brackets. seat height measures 30 inches.
