rare and seldom found early 20th century antique american salvaged chicago cast bronze monogrammed doorknobs designed for the covenant club, located at 10 north dearborn street, chicago, ills. the doorknob was likely designed by the building's architect, walter w. ahlschlager. the 11-story neo-renaissance building was completed in 1923 with a 1987 renovation by eckenhoff saunders architects. the private club served as a social centet for jewish men. the interior was equipped with a swimming pool, indoor running track, bowling alley and ballrooms. the exact fabricator of the knobs are not known. two available, priced individually.
