original and intact mid-nineteenth century iron pontiled "premium" eight-sided soda bottle manufactured for new york bottler william eagle. the multi-sided bottle is embossed vertically down alternating panels "premium / sodawater / wm eagle / new york" with a raised and underlined end-letter "m" in the abbreviated "william". the slim body tapers into a narrow neck and intact heavily whittled applied blobtop collar. the base has a kickup with residue from iron pontil, as well as visible side seams evidencing use of a key hinge mold. crudities include whittling, allover seeding, and minor surface wear. the bottle is clean and clear of haze.
