late 1930's antique american industrial four-legged stationary factory machine shop stool fabricated in part by the royal metal mfg. co., chicago, il. the stool contains a timeworn red painted wood circular seat added at a later point in time. the all-welded angled steel base is reinforced with stretchers doubling as a footrest. the slightly contoured backrest is likely not original to the stool's original configuration. distressed green paint finish found primarily on the metalwork. seat width 14" x height 20".
