matching set of 1900-10 antique american ornamental cast iron interior residential "truro" pattern doorknob backplates. the passage door hardware was fabricated around 1900-10 by the sargent hardware company, new haven, ct. features a mostly uniform metallic copper enameled finish. the richly ornate backplates were salvaged from a chicago residence undergoing renovations. embossed manufacturer markings found on the backside of the single keyhole escutcheon. backplates measure 7 1/2 x 2 1/4 inches. priced for the pair.
