two matching early 20th century american rococo style ornamental cast iron doorknob backplates or escutcheons designed and fabricated by the sargent hardware co., new haven, ct. the pair of delicate iron backplates retain the original copper-plated finish with surface wear evident. each doorknob backplate contains two screw holes, single keyholes and intact thimbles or collars. measure approximately 9 x 2 1/2 inches. priced for the pair.
