two matching original late 19th or early 20th century antique american industrial refinished cast iron lathe machine legs or "standards" fabricated by the seneca falls mfg. co., seneca falls, ny. a design patent was issued to henry m. darling in 1895 (see patent image). the refinished cast iron legs are curvaceous in shape, with centrally located hubs for use with a drive shaft or the like. the patent date, along with manufacturer markings are embossed along the exterior sides of each lathe leg or base. the brushed and sanded finish has been treated with a clear coat lacquer to prevent surface corrosion. priced for the pair. bases measure 24 x 9 x 33 1/2 inches
