outstanding original and completely intact late 19th century interior residential varnished antique american fireplace mantel designed and fabricated by or for e.l. robers & company, chicago, ills. the quartered oak wood fireplace mantel contains a largely uniform stained finish. the half-mantel was salvaged from a chicago residence undergoing demolition. the protruding shelf is supported by two solid wood fluted columns with elaborately carved capitals. the mantel is structurally sound and stable. 62 x 13 x 73. firebox is 47 x 45.
