three matching original c. 1890's antique american interior residential staircase newel post bottom finials salvaged from a chicago residence demolished long ago. the mantels from this residence contain labels on the backsides indicating john a gauger & company as the fabricators. the gauger lumberyard was located at 22nd & laflin streets in chicago, il. the millwork company specialized in sash, mouldings, doors, mantels, newels, etc. the goldsen oak acorn-shaped finials have been lightly cleaned and denailed. the original varnished finish remains in amazing condition, considering age. the solid white oak wood finials were apart of a very elaborate staircase system that was deconstructed urban remains in recent weeks. the finials are priced as a lot of three. base diameter of 5 inches and 4 inches height.
