late 19th or early 20th century ornamental cast bronze yale & towne perforated salesman sample card tray

hard to find late 19th or early 20th century highly ornamented cast bronze diminutive yale & towne advertising card tray designed and fabricated by the yale & towne mfg. co., stamford, ct. the exceptionally intricate and extensively perforated bowl or tray contains a clover leaf logo with the "y & t" initials lightly incised within the design motif. the slightly concave bowl contains repeating floral filigree, along with mythical creatures with tridents, spears, etc. the "salesman sample" was offered to potential clients wit the intention of displaying their skill and craftsmanship in casting metal. measures 7 1/2 inches in diameter.
