original late 19th century ornamental wrought steel interior residential passage size doorknob. the refinished steel doorknob contains an oil-rubbed bronze metallic inlay. deeply sunken center with center floral rosette. the banded rim doorknob dates to the around 1895. manufactured by the russell & erwin mfg. co., new britain, ct. measures approximately 2 1/4 inches in diameter.
