single antique american interior residential doorknob backplate or escutcheon designed and fabricated by reading or possibly the penn hardware company. the refinished doorknob backplate with beaded border is comprised of wrought bronze. original thimble or collar secured tightly to the backside of the escutcheon. measures approximately 7 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches.
