original late 19th century antique american interior residential passage door mortise lock featuring an ornamental cast brass faceplate. the mortise lock was likely fabricated by the sargent hardware co., new haven, ct. original spring-loaded latch bolt fully functional. cast iron lock box contains a baked black paint finish. measures approximately 5 1/2 x 1 x 3 1/4 inches.
