highly informative early 20th century chicago house-wrecking company's "building material" catalog feauring a large selection of the company's salvaged lumber, millwork, plumbing and heating. the softbound book contains a plethora of therr wares; from furniture stores raw building materials salvaged from the columbian exposition. this 193 page catalog remains in remarkable condition considering its age. the front cover is still brightly colored and the catlog's pages remain intact and free from significant tearing. the 2-staple binding has caused minor rusting and tearing on a few interior pages. based in chicago, the harris brothers began as a demolition company, tearing down several chicago area structures. in 1893, after salvaging a substantial amount of material from the chicago world's fair, the company began to wholesale these goods and changed their name to the chicago house-wrecking company in the process. measures 8 x 10 inches
