original 19th century american victorian era ornamental hand forged wrought iron exterior residential window guard designed and fabricated by the f.p. smith & iron works, chicago, il. the decorative iron window guard features a beautifully crafted fishtail scrolls arranged in a symmetrical fashion. a few of the original diminutive cast iron floral rosettes mounted along the sides remain intact. the distressed black paint finish is consistent with age and/or prolonged exposure to the outdoor elements. only one available. salvaged from a non-extant chicago graystone. 42.5 x 1.5 x 38.5"
