sizable lot of antique american ornamental heavy gauge wrought steel "ceylon" pattern doorknob backplates designed and fabricated by the p. & f. corbin co., new britain, ct. the ten matching backplates contain traces of the original copper-plated and/or brass "wash." the wrought steel thimbles or collars are securely fastened to the backside of the backplates. single keyholes and two screw hole openings are found throughout. measure approximately 5 1/2 x 1 1/2 inches. priced for the lot
