impressive late 1920's american antique spanish revival style interior residential hallway pendant light with original polychrome enameled finish

all original highly ornate late 1920's american antique interior residential electric pendant light possibly fabricated by or for the harry alter lighting co., chicago, il. the decorative spanish revival style cast iron lamp retains the original amber colored crackle glass cylindrical shade. the top and bottom bell-shaped components are designed specifically for holding the shade in place. three rods with tapped ball finials holds the body of the lamp together. the original polychrome enameled finish remains remarkably intact. the bottom finial and cast iron ceiling canopy are original to the fixture. the single keyless socket is original and in working condition. the hallway or entry pendant contains a mostly antique gold enameled finish, accentuated by red and green paint applied throughout. the lamp has been rewired with period appropriate rayon cloth cord. the cylindrical shade does contain a hairline crack. only minor wear evident in regards to finish. measures approximately 4 inches in diameter with a total length of 24 1/2 inches.
