original fully functional oversized antique american industrial freestanding salvaged chicago swivel and trunnion mount spotlight designed and fabricated by the major electric company, chicago, ills. the refinished brushed metal spotlight or searchlight contains a metal housing with newly added socket for a single light bulb. the spotlight likely was originally equipped with an arc light using carbon rods. the top contains a distinctive heat vent with original cap. the swivel and trunnion bracket is fully functional. great overall condition, considering age.
