highly sought after all original and intact 19th century post-fire chicago residential eastlake style marble mantel

completely intact early 1870's post-fire antique american interior residential white carrara or alabama marble fireplace mantel salvaged from a chicago residence undergoing interior renovation. the mantel was likely cut and/or supplied by roche & burkhardt of chicago. the mantel contains an oversized firebox opening with multiple incised keystones. the intact shelf is original to the mantel. the surface finish is largely uniform with sporadic discoloration from extensive use, pollutants and stains. the post-fire chicago fireplace mantel was carefully extracted and parts numbered.
