one of two groups or lots of original and intact "ceylon" pattern interior residential double sliding or pocket door hardware designed and fabricated by the p. & f. corbin co, new britain, ct. the set includes four matching cast bronze escutcheons. the bronze hardware has been refinished with a treatment used to enhance the casting detail. the double pocket door set (two matching) were salvaged from a chicago graystone (first and second floors). dates to the late 1880's. the "ceylon" eastlake style pattern was very popular and highly desirable for residential hardware treatments. priced for the lot of escutcheons. mortise locks no longer included in this set. measures 5 7/8 x 2 3/8 x 1/4 inches.
