original antique american 19th century interior residential figural fireplace detachable summer cover or "fire-front" and matching surround salvaged from a chicasgo graystone demolished long ago. the ornamented square-shaped cover features the roman goddess diana with bow and arrow confined within an oval-shaped cartouche. the surrounding embossed elements include, but not limited to, bellflowers, ribbons and foliated scrollwork. the victorian era summer cover was fabricated by w. l. sharp and son co., steubenville, oh. the surround measures 30 1/2 x 24 1/2 inches. the summer cover measures 26 1/2 inches by 20 inches.
