original and structurally sound antique american industrial low-lying oil dispensing tank base or stand possibly fabricated by or for the southern foundry & mfg. co., owensboro, ky. the clean and compact base is comprised of cold-rolled steel with riveted joints used to secure the corners and stretchers. the shoes are reinforced with overlapping angled steel riveted against the legs. the diminutive base has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. great overall condition. measures 14 x 15 x 19 inches.
