hard to find refinished and reconfigured antique american c. 1900-20 largely intact american industrial fully adjustable "peerless" draftsman or drafting table base designed and patented by adolph hoffman of columbus, oh. the well-built drawing table base contains a fully adjustable cast iron and tubular steel pipe tripod base with uniform brushed metal finish sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the telescoping base retains the original faucet-style handles used to achieve desired height, angle and so on. the factory office drafting table was manufactured by a. hoffman & co., rochester, ny. embossed lettering found on various components. original drawing board and/or extensions were removed long ago. a newly added hickory wood display box with raised walls or edges was attached to the base for storage and/or display purposes. the solid hardwood mitered joint cabinet box is very well-built. makes for distinctive multi-purpose industrial display fixture.
