rare original mid-nineteenth century cylindrical salt glazed stoneware weiss beer bottle manufactured for louis wagner chicago, illiniois. the front body is stamped crookedly "l.wagner /chicago". the pint-sized bottle has sloping shoulders and a squat neck finished with an applied long tapered collar that has some mottled chipping around the edge. at the shoulder is a conentric cobalt blue stripe. the bottle would originally have contained a cork stopper closure. measures 7 3/4 inches.
