tlarge lot of original c. 1930's vintage american industrial reinforced folded and pressed cold-rolled steel factory workbench hopper boxes or nesting bins designed and patented in 1930 by thomas shaw of woonsocket, rhode island. the all-welded multipurpose sea green and blue enameled "stackbins" allow for easy access to small parts and fasteners with a smooth interior and full-flow hopper front. the steel bins can be inter-stacked and are designed to support any weight that can fit within the cube of the container. each single unit section was manufactured by the stackbin corp., pawtucket, ri. salvaged from a recently shuttered chicago area factory. One unit measures 9.5"w x 7.5" h x 18.5" d.
