group of four original anglo-japanese style "rice" pattern cast bronze residential passage door backplates designed and fabricated by the yale & towne mfg. company, stamford, ct. the doorknob backplates are in great overall condition with a mostly uniform surface patina. the 1880's backplates were salvaged from a chicago house undergoing demolition. priced for the lot.
