original early 20th century massive solid hand-carved birch wood fireplace mantel salvaged from the lasar mansion located in st. louis, mo. the well-built mantel retains the original varnished finish with wear and tear consistent with age. the mantel was executed by the hornet mantel company, st. louis, mo. the rectangular-shaped mirror is original and intact. the fluted columns with ionic columns are both solid and carved. the frieze features a centrally located carved cartouche with ribbons and bellflowers.
