completely intact and fully functional vintage american industrial flush mount buffalo grain elevator "explosion" or vapor-proof single electric light wall sconce likely fabricated by the crouse-hinds co., syracuse, ny. the industrial fixture contains a cast aluminum bulb guard or cage and tapered socket housing affixed to a bent steel pipe. the fully enclosed conduit box mounts flush against the wall. the "impact resistant" jar or globe contains a slightly tinted "sun purple" hue from prolonged exposure to the outdoor elements. the bright red paint finish remains largely intact. measures 14 x 4 1/2 x 8 inches.
