c. 1940's american industrial hollywood studio mobile oversized spotlight with fully adjustable floor stand with pulley and counterweight. the towering spotlight was designed and fabricated by the mole-richardson co., hollywood, ca. the movie studio "spot" contains a single upright post attached to an adjustable arm controlled with a faucet style handle. the telescoping arm contains a weighted cast iron counterbalance on one end and the ventilated black enameled steel electric light fixture housing on the other end. an aluminum handle is connected to the housing to adjust the angle of the spotlight. the tripod base consists of three outstretched tubular legs with bulbous fittings and swivel casters. great overall condition, considering age. measures approximately 80 x 33 x 90 inches
