late 19th century original and intact american antique residential entrance door stop work mortise lock fabricated by the nashua lock co., nashua, new hampshire. the mortise lock contains an ornamental cast brass faceplate featuring abstract floral motifs against a textured field pattern. the two button stops are generally used to make the exterior knob stationary, so accessibility from the outside requires a key. mostly uniform surface patina. black enameled cast iron mortise lock box intact. measures approximately 7 x 1 x 4 inches.
