original and intact c. 1920's american antique brushed metal hospital operating room stool, designed and fabricated by or for the feick brothers co., pittsburgh, pa. the hospital surgeon or operators' stool contains four bent tubular steel legs with a rigid all-welded joint x-stretcher brace for added support and stability. the slightly contoured backrest is supported by three upright straps of steel affixed to the underside of the circular-shaped stool seat. the old medical stool has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. great condition, considering age. measures 19 x 19 x 33 1/2 inches high. seat is 19 inches high.
