very impressive and heavily reinforced early 20th century factory print shop small machine base designed and fabricated for the f. wesel mfg. co., brooklyn, ny. the exceptional bulbous cast iron pipe fittings and threaded end tubular steel pipes were likely manufactured by the national tube company, mckeesport, pa. the table base retains the original riveted wesel mfg. co. plaque, displayed prominently along the front upper stretcher. the distinctive american industrial base was brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer.
