SKU: UR-26222-17
extraordinarily rare all original early 20th century single-sided exterior porcelain enameled die cut steel optician trade sign possibly fabricated by the burdick sign company, chicago, ills. city directories indicate that bateman's clinic with "sight testing rooms" was located in new york city around the turn of the century. the sign would have been mounted flush against the building's facade, presumably near the entrance to the optician's shop. the centrally located close-up depiction of a man's eyes with pince-nez style spectacles retains its original color scheme. likely fabricated around 1905-1915. surface wear evident, but highly desirable sign nonetheless.
