original and intact c. 1900's antique american ornamental cast iron "cambridge" pattern interior residential doorknob backplate designed and fabricated by the lockwood mfg. co., south norwalk, ct. the fanciful passage door backplate contains a brushed metal surface darkened with an oil-rubbed metallic bronze enameled finish. measures 7 1/2 x 2 1/4 inches.
