early 20th century antique american industrial heavily riveted angled iron mobile foundry cart with solid ash wood tabletop

unique and attractive low-lying early 20th century american industrial mobile workstation or cart attributed to the durand steel locker company, inc., chicago, il. the cart was salvaged from a chicago area iron foundry operating since the late 19th century. the frame consists of angled iron reinforced with heavily riveted corner brackets found beneath the tabletop. the diminutive spoked cast iron wheels are in great working condition. the tabletop consists of three solid ash wood boards that have been refinished. the iron and steel components have been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer to prevent surface corrosion. great looking multi-purpose industrial furniture piece. measures approximately 28 1/2 x 18 x 23 inches.
