original and intact c. 1900-20 american vintage industrial cast iron single lathe machine base fabricated by the d.e. whiton machine co., new london, ct. the heavily reinforced stationary iron base contains a brushed metal finish treated with a clear coat lacquer. the opposed base or floor plates contain pre-drilled holes for anchoring into the floor. makes for an ideal table base. measures 19 inches tall.
