original and intact early 20th century american vintage industrial rolled rim factory office waste basket or trash can manufactured by the northwestern expanded metal co., chicago, il. the metallic silver finish remains largely intact. designed and patented by joseph jantusek. the basket is composed of a single section of sheet metal which is "slitted and expanded" to form a uniform diamond mesh. the flared top with rolled rim or hoop is intact. embossed manufacturer markings on the bottom. measures 12 inches in height. several other variations available in stock.
