original and intact c. 1920's american antique industrial freestanding cast iron and aluminum grinder motor pedestal machine base fabricated by or for the j.g. blount co., everett, mass. the slightly tapered stand with weighted flared base has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the rounded corner platform or deck is comprised of reinforced cast aluminum. the detachable electric switch plate remains intact. the base contains multiple pre-drilled holes for anchoring against the floor. salvaged from a chicago area tool and die factory. 12-1/2" x 15" x 33".
