oversized heavy gauge steel freestanding pressed and folded cold-rolled steel storage cabinet or shelving unit fabricated by or for the wenco mfg. company, elgin, ills. the robust metal cabinet retains the original baked dark olive green enameled finish with surface wear consistent with age. the cabinet features multiple adjustable shelves and a three-tier module containing matching pull-out drawers. the salvaged chicago cabinet is structurally sound and stable. the combination bookshelf and multi-drawer cabinet was salvaged from the zim mfg. company factory. founded in 1919, the zim manufacturing company specialized in the manufacture of automobile specialty tools and gauges, housewares, and other hand tools. the extant factory is located on the far west side of chicago. 36 x 12 1/2 x 72
