incredibly heavy and very robust wisconsin hardwood stationary classroom or shop class workbench salvaged from an old school in grand rapids, mich. the refinished double-sided workbench is comprised of multiple hardwoods that have been lightly sanded and sealed. the tool bench was designed and fabricated by the c. christiansen company, chicago, il. during the early 20th century c. christiansen & company outfitted a great number of institutions with woodshop workbenches designed and manufactured in a great variety of sizes and configurations. the workbench cabinet offered in this listing is rather unique and hard to find. one side contains a plurality of drawers on the right, with a large recessed area for hanging and/or mounting various tools. the pressed steel drawer pulls are original and intact. the heavy duty oliver model no. 150 iron and steel vise is mounted firmly to the table. the opposite side of the bench is completely enclosed with multiple sliding cabinet doors with recess panels. the sides are finished with recessed panels. the school inventory "stamp" and hand-painted number were left on the sides of the workbench. great overall condition, considering age. measures 58 inches x 25 inches x 31 inches.
