SKU: UR-20539-14
original and nicely aged single-sided j. lang electric company switchboard plaque comprised of solid copper with a completely intact baked black enameled finish used to outline the lettering. the diminutive plaque was salvaged from a large black slate switchboard panel equipped with a multitude of copper knife switches or conductive levers. the levers pivoted on hinges to break or complete the circuit (i.e., by engaging/disengaging the stationary contact points). the turned wood handles were painted black with very little, if any wear. the switchboard was a three phase, 250 amp configuration with each and every component perfectly intact. sadly, the switchboard, which was in working condition since 1914, went into the landfill with the rest of the building. the plaque was removed prior to demolition to further research the company. the salvaged memento from the lost switchboard was framed in a cherry wood frame.
