original early 20th century antique american cast iron "ontario" pattern interior residential passage door escutcheon with largely intact brass-plated finish or "wash." the ornamental iron backplate was fabricated by the barrows hardware company., lockport, il. the fluted thimble or collar is free from damage and/or excessive wear. measures approximately 8 1/2 x 2 1/4 inches.
