original 19th century american ornamental cast iron multifaceted ornamental office desk paperweight likely fabricated by the russell & erwin mfg. co., new britain, ct. the pyramidal-shaped paperweight retains the original decorative bronze knob or pull. with original intact cast bronze knob. the brushed iron surface has been treated with a clear coat lacquer. each angled panel contains intricate filigree or foliated scrollwork. measure approximately 5 x 2 3/4 inches.
