original and intact late 19th and early 20th century antique american privy pit "dug" medicinal bottles with several likely fabricated by or for the whitall tatum company, philadelphia, pa. the assorted lot contains many bottles with the distinct and recognizable narrow and long necks with wide mouths. some of the bottles are paneled, while others have embossed markings (e.g., castor oil). the colors range from a dark amber to clear glass. the bottles were discovered in privy pits in the back lots of old chicago houses undergoing demolition. priced for the lot.
