magnificent 19th century american high victorian era hand-carved solid white oak interior residential fireplace mantel crown or header possibly fabricated by chas. f. lorenzen & co., chicago, il. the long oak wood header features painstakingly carved floral motifs flanking symmetrically arranged fanciful volutes and an oversized fluted urn finial. the original varnished and/or stained finish has darkened considerable over time. great overall condition. 1-1/2" x 94-1/2" x 11".
