nicely aged and well-maintained antique american early 20th century exterior residential ornamental cast bronze push button doorbell backplate or escutcheon designed and fabricated by the yale & towne mfg. co., stamford, ct. the detailed ornamental bronze doorbell backplate contains a centrally located opening where a push button would be mounted. the dome-shaped housing contains a threaded bottom for attachment to the backplate. the surface patina is mostly uniform throughout.
