exceptional victorian era antique american industrial victorian era ornamental cast brass interior chicago railroad pullman passenger car door hardware fashioned in the highly desirable "snowflake" pattern designed and fabricated by the adams & westlake co., chicago, ills. the highly sought after door hardware includes the original surface lock with integrated doorknob, separate escutcheon with matching doorknob, and ornamental brass strike plate. the latch and dead bolts are in great working condition. the surface patina has aged nicely over the last hundred years. priced for the complete set. the adams & westlake company was founded in 1857 in chicago, illinois. in the beginning, they began manufacturing and selling railroad supplies and hardware. with the opening of the american west and expansion of the railroads, the company prospered and diversified. within 45 years, adlake became one of the largest suppliers of equipment to the transportation industry in the world. in 1927, adlake relocated to its present site in elkhart, indiana. surface lock measures 6 x 5 x 6. escutcheon with knob measures 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 x 7 inches. strike plate measures 5 1/2 x 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 inches.
