all original 19th century exterior residential eastlake style ornamental cast brass "oriental" pattern backplate with matching "bamboo" pattern oversized drum-shaped doorknob

lightly cleaned original 19th century eastlake style ornamental cast brass residential entrance door escutcheon with matching oversized drum-shaped "bamboo" pattern doorknob. both escutcheon and doorknob were designed and fabricated by branford lock works, branford, ct. the c. 1880's highly sought after hardware was salvaged from a chicago residence undergoing demolition. the backplate contains two keyhole openings with no swinging cover plate included in this configuration. the large drum-shaped doorknob contains a slightly recessed rim. the original baked black enameled inlay used to accentuate the casting detail remains largely intact. priced for the knob and backplate combined. doorknob measures 2 1/4 inches in diameter and plate measures 2 x 7 1/2 inches.
