c. 1880's antique american aesthetic movement entrance door exterior backplate or escutcheon designed and fabricated by branford lock works, branford, ct. the highly desirable "oriental" pattern doorknob backplate contains protruding collar or thimble. the backplate retains the original partially intact baked black enameled inlay used to accentuate or highlight the casting detail.
